Welcome to Diamonds!
Welcome to Diamonds, a Cambridge-based trans-gender social and self-help group and our website.
Captain Tarquin welcomes us aboard every Wednesday evening from 8pm until late...
You may find this website useful if you have an interest in transgender issues, and are resident in or visiting Cambridgeshire (UK). You may be a transgendered person, transsexual, transvestite, crossdresser, a friend or a partner... someone looking for help, advice, friendship, or maybe just a social scene.
Maybe you're considering coming out for the first time, unsure about your feelings, or confused about the antics of your flatmate or partner. We can help.
NOTE: There is no X-rated 18+ content on this website, and it is not a dating website. If you are looking for such material, this is not the place for you.
About Us
Diamonds is a social self-help group, based in Cambridge (UK), for transgendered people, transsexuals, transvestites, crossdressers, their friends and partners. The group has been going for over 10 successful years, from its roots at the Town & Gown. It is run by Di, who also runs the Women of the Beaumont Society (WOBS).
The group is open to anyone with an interest in transgender issues, and who is resident in or visiting Cambridgeshire, or willing to travel from further afield in East Anglia. Our members are varied, ranging from the shy occasional dresser to those who have transitioned or live fulltime as women. Everyone is welcome and there are no membership fees.
The group meets weekly on the Georgina Riverboat in the city of Cambridge, which provides a private, relaxing, non-judgemental environment complete with changing facilities, though dressing is entirely voluntary. Note that this venue has been generously provided free with a licensed bar and so no fees need to be charged to members.
The search for a more sensible location for winter meetings continues. Please email
or join the tgcamb Yahoo group to keep up-to-date with the progress.
New members are always welcome and there is always a group member willing to help a new member and listen to any problems. We all start somewhere.
A variety of other regular and occasional events are also hosted by Cambridge Diamonds, and we keep a diary of other events that are of interest to our members.
The group also has an online Yahoo group forum, tgcamb, where members discuss ideas, tips, events and nights out. Some new members start by joining this group, so they can say "hello", get a feel for the group, and find someone to help them along to our next meeting.
We are all different, and everyone is valid and valuable.
If you want to get in touch, please email
or join the tgcamb Yahoo group.
